The girl on the bus essays The story by William Sansom is named The girl on the bus. The title of every story is significant because it names the sense for the story. The title of the story introduces the main hero- the girl. It is clear that the girl is in the center of action, which states the cause of the conflict. The words on the bus determine the place of the story. It doesnt mean that the main action takes place exactly on the bus, but it could mean the surrounding of the story. In my opinion, the author by the words on the bus wanted to hint at the changeable setting of the story. The exposition starts with the words Once leaving Haga and finishes with the words Naturally, he felt nervous, frustrated, and dull. The exposition lies in the opening the point of the story. The exposition presents the setting. It presents the place and gives short information about the place and time. The first event takes place in a park in Stockholm, on a winter day. There is no any other description about place; the information about the place is very short. Also the first sentence gives the name to the main hero, who is named by Harry. The event takes place in a park, where Harry met the girl and the beauty of the girl took his breath away. The main action of the exposition is that Harry immediately fell madly in love with her. We find the beginning of the conflict when the girl cast the glance at him, but he never knew whether she saw him at all, or looked past or through him. The exposition is very important because it says about future conflict. We see in that part the position, feelings, emotions of the men, who is waiting for her reaction and attention. To describe the strength of the feelings and emotions of the men the author uses the strong words such madly, alone, nervous...
